DEIRDRE’S DESIGN
Virtual Consultation
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How much does a virtual design consultation cost?
Each virtual design consultation costs $70 for one room, $135 for 2 rooms, $190 for 3 rooms and $250 for 4 rooms. Each additional room costs $50 for a consultation, and a living room/dining combo or master bedroom with a suite costs $125.
2. How does the virtual design process work?
Once you book a consultation call, we’ll schedule a time for a video chat via Facetime or WhatsApp. In this call, you will walk me around your space and show me the areas that you would like to redesign, those that you’re struggling with, have questions about or have ideas for that are not coming together like you imagined.
During our call, I will develop and deliver solutions for redesigning your space, along with a design strategy that will walk you step-by-step through how to implement the design. I’ll make suggestions on how to improve your rooms with furniture arrangement, color, lighting and rearranging your existing accessories and furnishings. This is a great way to learn how to update the appearance and functionality of your home at a reasonable cost.
I’ll also help guide you along the way as you’re making various design selections for your space. For example, if we talk about purchasing a new chandelier for your kitchen, you can send three chandelier options that you are interested in purchasing and I’ll let you know which one would work best for your room based on your unique design style.
If you are short on time and would like for me to shop for you, I can do so at an additional rate of $80 per hour. For reference, 90% of my clients do their own shopping, but I’m happy to help if this is something you need assistance with.
3. Can you create 3D renderings of my room?
All of my virtual design consultations will include reference images and 2D mockups of various arrangements and furniture layouts. If you are interested in having me create custom 3D renderings of your space so that you can further visualise your design before making purchase decisions, I can do this on an as needed basis for an extra fee. Please inquire further if this is of interest.
4. Can you help me shop and select products for my house?
If you need assistance with selecting products for your space, I can help with everything related to finishing and furnishing your room (tile, paint, carpet, furniture, accent pieces, etc.). With this said, your room needs to be finished before I can begin designing, as I cannot work with an unfinished construction site.
5. What kind of suggestions do you make in your consultations?
I regularly advise clients on the following and make suggestions in the realm of:
- Furniture arrangement and floor plans
- Art placement
- Paint colors
- Ideas for what types and sizes of items to shop for, including furniture, fabrics, rugs, window treatments, accessories, lighting, plants and art
